Delete Your Account

Request permanent deletion of your MacroMasala account and data

You have the right to request the permanent deletion of your MacroMasala account and all associated personal data. Below are the steps to initiate account deletion, details on what data will be removed, and our data retention policies.

How to Request Account Deletion

The easiest way to delete your account is through the MacroMasala app:

  1. Open the MacroMasala app on your device.
  2. Go to Settings (usually found in the profile or menu tab).
  3. Select Delete Account from the settings menu.
  4. Confirm the deletion request when prompted.

What Data Will Be Deleted

Upon confirmation of your deletion request, the following data will be permanently removed from our systems:

  • Account information — login credentials, authentication tokens, and account identifiers.
  • Email address — your registered email and any associated communication preferences.
  • Profile information — name, age, weight, height, dietary goals, and other health-related data you provided.
  • Meal logs — all recorded meals, recipes, and food entries.
  • Nutrition tracking history — calorie counts, macronutrient summaries, and historical analytics.
  • Food images uploaded by you — all photos of meals uploaded for AI recognition or personal tracking.

Data Retention

We aim to process all deletion requests promptly. Data is generally deleted within 30 days of receiving and confirming your request.

However, certain information may be retained for longer periods if required by law, or for legitimate business purposes such as:

  • Legal obligations — compliance with applicable laws, regulations, or government requests.
  • Security and fraud prevention — maintaining records to detect, prevent, or investigate security incidents or fraudulent activity.
  • Operational requirements — resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, or protecting our legal rights.

Any retained data will be kept only for as long as necessary for these specific purposes and will be securely stored with access limited to authorized personnel.
