Welcome to MacroMasala.
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MacroMasala mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account or using MacroMasala, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use MacroMasala.
If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may only use the Service with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
2. Description of the Service
MacroMasala is a nutrition tracking application designed to help users:
- Log meals
- Estimate calories
- Track macronutrients
- Identify foods using artificial intelligence
- Organize nutrition information
MacroMasala is intended for informational and educational purposes only.
3. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information.
- Keep your login credentials secure.
- Notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.
You remain responsible for activity occurring under your account.
4. AI Features
MacroMasala includes AI-powered food recognition.
When you submit a meal photograph or voice description:
- the content is processed solely to identify foods,
- nutritional estimates are generated,
- meal images are not permanently stored by MacroMasala.
AI-generated results may occasionally be inaccurate.
You acknowledge that nutritional estimates are provided for convenience only and should not be considered exact measurements.
5. Medical Disclaimer
MacroMasala is not a medical device.
The Service does not provide:
- medical advice,
- diagnosis,
- treatment,
- nutritional therapy,
- healthcare recommendations.
Always consult a qualified healthcare professional regarding medical, dietary, or nutritional concerns.
Do not rely solely on MacroMasala when making health-related decisions.
6. Allergy Disclaimer
MacroMasala cannot verify ingredients, allergens, food preparation methods, or cross-contamination.
Users with allergies or dietary restrictions remain solely responsible for verifying all food information before consumption.
7. Nutritional Information
Calorie and macronutrient values provided by MacroMasala are estimates.
Actual nutritional values may vary depending on:
- ingredients,
- preparation methods,
- serving sizes,
- manufacturer differences,
- recipe variations.
MacroMasala makes no guarantee regarding the accuracy or completeness of nutritional information.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use MacroMasala for unlawful purposes;
- interfere with the operation of the Service;
- attempt unauthorized access to our systems;
- reverse engineer or decompile the Service except where permitted by law;
- upload malicious software;
- abuse AI functionality.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
9. Intellectual Property
MacroMasala, including its software, branding, logos, design, graphics, text, databases, and original content, is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
No rights are transferred except the limited right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.
10. Future Premium Services
MacroMasala may introduce optional paid features or subscription plans.
If subscriptions become available:
- pricing will be displayed before purchase;
- purchases will be handled by the applicable app store;
- additional subscription terms may apply.
11. Third-Party Services
MacroMasala relies on third-party providers to operate certain features.
These currently include:
- Supabase
- Lovable Cloud
- Lovable AI Gateway
- Google Gemini models
- Google Play Services
MacroMasala is not responsible for interruptions or failures caused by third-party services beyond our reasonable control.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "as available" and "as is" basis.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MacroMasala disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including warranties of:
- merchantability,
- fitness for a particular purpose,
- non-infringement,
- uninterrupted availability,
- accuracy of AI-generated results.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MacroMasala and its owner shall not be liable for:
- indirect damages,
- incidental damages,
- consequential damages,
- loss of profits,
- loss of data,
- loss of business opportunities,
- decisions made based on AI-generated nutritional estimates.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MacroMasala and its owner from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from:
- your misuse of the Service,
- your violation of these Terms,
- your violation of applicable laws,
- content you submit through the Service.
15. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if:
- these Terms are violated;
- fraudulent or abusive activity is detected;
- required by law;
- necessary to protect the security or integrity of the Service.
You may stop using MacroMasala and delete your account at any time.
16. Changes to the Service
We may modify, improve, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time.
We are under no obligation to continue providing any particular feature.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
When significant changes are made, we will update the "Last Updated" date.
Continued use of MacroMasala after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
18. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws applicable in the Federal Republic of Germany, except where mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence provide otherwise.
