Depending on how you use the app, we may collect the following information.
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:

- Authentication information managed through Supabase Authentication
MacroMasala does not store your password.
Profile Information
You may choose to provide:
- Display name

- Daily calorie goal
- Preferred measurement units
- Subscription tier information
MacroMasala does not collect age, weight, height, gender, medical conditions, or similar health information.
Meal Data
When using the app, you may create:
- Meal logs

- Estimated macronutrient information
AI Requests
When you use AI meal recognition or voice recognition, MacroMasala temporarily processes:
- Meal photographs
- Voice transcripts
These requests are processed solely to identify foods and estimate nutritional content.
Uploaded meal images are not permanently stored by MacroMasala.
Technical Information
To operate the service, limited technical information may be processed, including:
- Device type
- Operating system version
- App version
- Authentication session information
3. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used only to provide and improve MacroMasala.
This includes:
- Creating and managing your account
- Providing meal tracking
- Calculating estimated calories and macronutrients
- Processing AI-powered food recognition
- Providing voice meal recognition
- Maintaining account security
- Responding to support requests
- Enabling account deletion when requested
4. AI Processing
MacroMasala uses AI technology to recognize foods from images and voice descriptions.
To provide this functionality:
- Meal photographs may be transmitted to the Lovable AI Gateway, which utilizes Google Gemini models.
- Voice transcripts may also be processed for food recognition.
MacroMasala does not permanently store uploaded meal images.
AI-generated nutritional information is intended as an estimate only and should not be considered exact.
5. Data Storage
MacroMasala stores user data using Supabase services provided through Lovable Cloud.
Examples of stored information include:
- Profile information
- Meal history
- Saved meals
- AI usage counters
All communication with our backend is encrypted using HTTPS.
6. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your personal information.
These include:
- Encrypted communications
- Row Level Security (RLS) for user data
- Authentication handled by Supabase
- Secure backend infrastructure
While we strive to protect your information, no online service can guarantee absolute security.

- Supabase (Authentication and Database)
- Lovable Cloud
- Lovable AI Gateway
- Google Gemini AI models
- Google Play Services (Android distribution)
These providers process information only as necessary to provide their respective services.
8. What We Do Not Collect
MacroMasala currently does not:
- Sell your personal information
- Display advertisements
- Use advertising networks
- Use analytics platforms such as Google Analytics or Firebase Analytics
- Use crash reporting services
- Store payment card information
- Store uploaded meal photographs permanently

- Update your profile
- Change your calorie goal
- Delete your account
- Contact us regarding your personal information
When you delete your account, associated user information is removed in accordance with our deletion process.
10. Children's Privacy
MacroMasala is not intended for children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.
If you believe a child has provided personal information through MacroMasala, please contact us so appropriate action can be taken.
